The Vancouver Prostate Centre is a globally recognized translational research institute advancing diagnostics and treatments for prostate cancer. Fusebox was engaged to modernize the Centre’s brand presence and develop a stronger communications platform — including the design and development of a new website alongside ongoing print and institutional communications supporting research, fundraising, and international partnerships.
The Challenge
The Centre operates at the intersection of laboratory research, clinical trials, philanthropy, and academic partnerships. Its previous digital presence did not fully communicate the depth of its work, the scale of its impact, or the integration between scientific discovery and patient care.
The new platform needed to:
Clearly communicate complex scientific initiatives
Support researchers, clinicians, donors, and global partners
Elevate the Centre’s reputation internationally
Accommodate ongoing research updates and institutional growth
At the same time, communications materials needed to translate highly technical research into accessible formats suitable for donors, institutional partners, and broader audiences.
The Approach
Fusebox led the art direction, UX strategy, and full website redesign. The site architecture was reorganized to reflect the Centre’s translational model — from discovery science through to clinical application.
Key initiatives included:
A refined visual system aligned with academic and healthcare credibility
Clear content hierarchy supporting multiple stakeholder groups
Improved navigation across research programs, clinical trials, faculty, and publications
A scalable CMS framework designed to support long-term institutional growth
In parallel, Fusebox developed a range of print communications including annual reports, donor campaign publications, and institutional collateral used to communicate research progress and funding priorities.
The work focused on presenting complex scientific content with clarity while maintaining the credibility expected of a leading research institute.
The Outcome
The new platform positions the Vancouver Prostate Centre as a world-class research institution. The website now reflects the sophistication of its science, the strength of its partnerships, and the scale of its global contribution to prostate cancer research.
