
Brand Identity, Design System, and Website Development for a World-Class Healthcare Innovation Centre

MIUS is a research and innovation institute advancing urologic care through leading-edge science, clinical collaboration, and technology development. It brings together clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to accelerate discoveries, translate research into real-world solutions, and improve outcomes for patients in Canada and globally.
The Challenge
M.H. Mohseni Institute of Urologic Sciences (MIUS) is a newly established institute bringing together six leading urologic research centres across Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia. While the collective impact of its research, clinical care, education, and commercialization activities was significant, MIUS needed to clearly articulate who it is, what it does, and why it matters to funders, partners, researchers, and the broader healthcare innovation community.
The Approach
We worked with leadership to define what MIUS stands for and what makes it distinct: world-class science, collaboration, and its connection to one of Canada's leading healthcare and research hubs. This strategic foundation informed the creation of a new brand identity and scalable design system, bringing six research centres together under a unified brand and extending across the website, presentations, signage, and communications materials.
The Outcome
MIUS emerged with a strong, confident identity that clearly communicates its leadership in urologic science and innovation. The refreshed brand and digital experience support partnership development, recruitment, funding opportunities, and knowledge sharing—positioning MIUS as a nationally and internationally recognized centre of excellence.
